Do Consumers Really Want A Mixed-Reality Headset?

In two weeks, Apple will reportedly unveil its first Mixed Reality (MR)/AR headset at its World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) from June 5-9, 2023.
When I talked with Apple CEO Tim Cook after he announced the AR Kit at WWDC in 2018, he told me he believed AR “may be one of Apple’s most important products in the future.”
However, one of the questions we need to ask, even before Apple and others potentially enter and expand the market for VR-XR and AR headsets, is, does anyone want them?
The folks at Amdocs recently ran a survey asking this question. Here is a short synopsis of Amdocs findings:
“New research by Amdocs reveals that consumers are eager for more advanced augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) experiences, particularly if industry giant Apple is involved. The study found that users are looking for these immersive technologies to be integrated with gaming, shopping, exercise, and more.”
Would you like to explore the details of the Amdocs survey further, including insights such as the percentage of consumers currently using AR, the percentage of consumers with a clear understanding of MR/AR, and the percentage of consumers interested in owning a MR headset?
